What should be my focus for marketing on the internet?

There could be many different focuses, but if you are a small company trying to make it big, there is one very obtainable goal you can focus on and achieve this year.

Bend all your resources, all you time all your concentration on one thing.

Repeat after me:

"I will find and engage 500 people this year who love my product/service/publication and who get excited enough that in the coming year they will tell 5 people."

In order to do that you need to get 10 people.  You can do that.  If you can't do that, then you need to rethink your business.

Be amazing for those 10 people.  Engage them.  Be good to them.  Encourage them to share their amazement with their friends, online, offline.  Make it easy to do so.  Now find 10 more...Lather, rinse, repeat.

This is the entrepreneurial process.  Get your first 500.  The rest will come.

See...you don't have to get the whole world.  You don't have to get them all at once.  Get one today.  Get 10 in the next two weeks, etc.  This is do-able.  On your mark, get set...Grow!
