  • Day 8, Warm Fuzzy Brigade - Progress report

    Posted by Bonnie / on 02/24/2009 / 2 Comments

So far I have not done any promotion of the Warm Fuzzy Brigade site.

However, my lens rankings have improved considerably, #238 in Volunteering category and #44,594 overall.  This now ranks higher than any of my lenses so far. http://squidoo.com/warmfuzzybrigade

What I have done so far to make that happen is to add in more content.  One of the first most important tips to raise your Ranking in Squidoo is to add content.  I am going to start promoting the lens from within Squidoo now, finding groups and lenses related to crocheting, knitting, quilting and sewing as well as other volunteering ..

Take the time to watch this 11 minute video.  It touched my heart and encouraged me to go the distance.

If it makes a difference to you, pass it on.

  • Day one: 5.5 hours in. Warm Fuzzy Brigade

    Posted by Bonnie / on 02/16/2009 / 0 Comments

Lens is nearly done, at least for now.  What I know about lenses is that they are never done, when they are done correctly.

Interestingly enough, I now have @squidlove following me on Twitter, just joined me this past hour.

My lens stats from a standing start are: #873 in the Volunteering category and #126955 overall.  That already beats four of my personal lenses that are much older.  Talk about not following my own advice.  Some of those lenses haven't been messed with in...nah, not gonna tell you.  Too embarrassing.

At any rate, I have a couple of lists of links, ..

  • Day One: 3 hours in. Warm Fuzzy Brigade Case Study

    Posted by Bonnie / on 02/16/2009 / 0 Comments

Woke up at 3 am with an idea that wouldn't leave me alone.

The foundations of the idea were:

    1. In uncertain times we can either sit and watch things go down the tube or we can do something...anything within our power to do in order to make things better.
    2. I have been wanting to graphicly demonstrate the power of internet marketing in a web 2.0 environment.  I want my students to see internet marketing done right in the pure light of day, nothing held back, no dark little secrets, no ingredients left out of the recipe.
    3. This case study will ..
  • McSpamburgers

    Posted by Bonnie / on 02/12/2009 / 0 Comments

I just got a McSpamburger in my email.  I a darned sure I never subscribed to the McDonald's newsletter.  I really abhor their food.

Curious, I decided to see what in the world anyone would ever want to know that they didn't know about a McDonald's hamburger.  So, I admit it.  I clicked.

The site was cute with a large graphic of a hamburger in the middle.  There were some links.  I clicked on one which then took me to a warning page that I was about to leave the McDonald's site and they wouldn't be held responsible for the results.  ..

  • Begin today

    Intro

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it"

    -- Goethe

The Secret is:  Do something today that means you are closer to your ideal tomorrow.

Wishing will not make it so. No lucky clover will see you through. The rabbits foot wasn't very lucky for the rabbit. Keeping good thoughts, without doing something about them, is pleasant but not productive.

A daily action plan, even if it is doing one simple, doable thing, will make you more money than any other strategy I can teach you.

Be persistant, be consistent and ..

  • What should be my focus for marketing on the internet?

    Posted by Bonnie / on 02/06/2009 / 0 Comments

There could be many different focuses, but if you are a small company trying to make it big, there is one very obtainable goal you can focus on and achieve this year.

Bend all your resources, all you time all your concentration on one thing.

    Repeat after me:

"I will find and engage 500 people this year who love my product/service/publication and who get excited enough that in the coming year they will tell 5 people."

In order to do that you need to get 10 people.  You can do that.  If you can't do that, then you need to rethink ..

  • Are you going to finish strong?

Sometimes it seems like the only path is to quit. Sometimes it seems like you have sacrificed enough. Sometimes it seems like you just can't get knocked down one more time and stand back up again.

I know we have talked about "The Dip" by Seth Godin in the class. If you have a copy, take some time and re-read it. If you don't have the book, get it and read it. In the meantime, take two minutes and watch this...and stand up one more time.

We are about to shake things up at the Cookie Cutter Group.
